Post 5744 participates in two National Youth Scholarship Programs: the Patriot's Pen essay program and the Voice of Democracy audio-essay program. Post 6744 additionally offers scholarships to the children and grandchildren of Post members, as well as special scholarships to Veterans in need.

 

Students in grades 6 through 8 are invited to enter the annual VFW Patriot’s Pen® youth essay contest.  This program provides these students the opportunity to express themselves in regards to a democratic and patriotic-themed written essay, while competing for a chance to win a share of nearly $1 million in state and national awards.
